Cat caf to open near Southgate

Chuck Patton, owner of A Purrfect Day Café in Louisville, is planning to open a second location in Covington. Residents of Southgate and others from northern Kentucky will no doubt want to try out this unique dining experience.

A Purrfect Day Café will be in what was once the Davon Auto Shop in the downtown area. Patton decided to open his café in Covington as his parents live next door to founder of Fabulous Furs, Donna Salyers, who is a businesswoman in Southgate. She told him the city is undergoing rapid development which spurred his interest.

Patton said that although the space has long been a shop for auto service, he said it was ideal as the building has a great deal of history hidden behind its exterior. The space is 12,000 square feet in size and will be home to his business and other entrepreneurs. Brochure printing can be used to promote such locations to those interested in such distinctive spaces.

There will be coffee and some alcoholic drinks offered by the café, and some options for light food. Once the renovations to the building are completed later this spring, he hopes that others will offer complementary businesses, such as an ice cream shop or a bakery.

There will also be a room dedicated for both kittens and older cats. Patton will be working with the Kenton County Animal Shelter to help find forever homes for the cats.
