Sustainability summit offers new ideas in Lexington
University of Kentucky students and Lexington residents interested in learning about effective sustainability practices may be interested in a summit planned for next month.
The 5th Annual Sustainability Summit, which is being organized by Bluegrass Greensource, will open its doors to interested parties soon, offering insight into different industries and practices geared toward energy efficiency. The summit will aim to bring community leaders together to meet with business leaders in Lexington in an attempt to move the needle for sustainability and generate change in their communities.
The summit will focus on three separate topics, including recycling, safer streets, and climate resilience. The climate resilience segment will provide information about climate change while spreading hope and positivity through creative solutions. The recycling segment will provide information on reducing contamination for more effective recycling efforts.
Attendees will learn about efforts for inclusive pedestrian and cycling networks in Lexington, promoting safety. Brochure printing is an effective way to spread new information to participants at such summits and seminars. Individuals can contact Rachel Skinner of Bluegrass Greensource for more information about attending and accessing scholarships, and continuing education credits will be available.
The Gatton Student Center on the Universty of Kentucky campus in Lexington will host the summit, which is set for Monday, April 28th. The doors will open at 8:00 AM. Tickets are available starting at $35 per person online.
