A local artist collective is offering workshops built around creating risograph prints, and Lexington residents looking to try something new or pick up a hobby are encouraged to sign up.
The Riso AF Boot Camp, organized by local collective antfarm, is preparing to offer classes to teach interested parties the basics of creating risographs. The session is ideal for Print nerds and other individuals who have an interest in learning more about printing. It will provide four hours of immersive learning experiences, with instructors demonstrating and explaining the basics of risograph prints.
Both antfarm members and non-members are welcome to sign up for the boot camp. Contributions will support the purchase of workshop materials, art resources, and risograph maintenance to support future events like this. Flyer printing can be an effective way to promote such events through grassroots efforts and public placement, maximizing impressions and boosting attendance.
Riso printers differ from traditional printers due to the use of soy or rice bran ink. It offers a more ecological alternative to conventional printing. Interested parties are asked to register in advance for the class to ensure that there are enough materials for all students.
The workshop will be held in Lexington at antfarm, and is scheduled for Saturday, August 23rd, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Tickets are $100 for non-members and can be purchased online.
