The Living Arts and Science Center in Lexington will have art and science classes for children this fall.
Some of the classes are science, art, comics, Science Fridays, and Discovery Saturday. The center began in 1968 and now is a cultural organization that offers creative classes in art and science.
On October 3 and 4, Fall Break No Day Classes will be held 7:45 am to 5:30 pm. Classes are for preschool through 12th grade. Classes will be held in art, animal studies, science, Photoshop, and designing your own comic. Hours vary and classes require registration.
Science Fridays in the Planetarium will be held during October. The theme on October 4 will be From Dream to Discovery: Inside NASA. Guests can learn about the history of NASA space ships and how they are built in sessions running at 12:00 noon, 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm, and 6:00 pm.
On October 11, The Sun: Our Living Star will be the theme at 6:00 and 7:00 pm, where guests can explore the power and science behind the sun. On October 18, Phantom of the Universe explores the Big Bang Theory. All shows run for about 30 minutes.
Planetarium Halloween Celestial Origins will be on October 25 at 6:00 and 7:00 pm. This is a chance to explore the history behind Halloween as an astronomical holiday and learn which planets and constellations will be out on Halloween night.
The Living Arts and Science Center is located at 362 North Martin Luther King Boulevard. Lexington has printers that offer brochure printing services for museums like this, particularly when they have seasonal programs.
