Hike helps Lexington residents get close to nature

Hiking season is fast approaching in the Lexington area, and residents seeking a guided escape should mark their Calendars for an upcoming adventure.

The Fall Long Hike, organized by the Floracliff Nature Sanctuary, is set to welcome visitors seeking quality time in the outdoors with a longer hike through the forest. Attendees will enjoy a guided stroll along the trail to peruse and ponder over the wonder of nature and take in the mid-autumn views.

The hike will be on the longer end of the spectrum, as the guide will take registered guests down multiple trails within the sanctuary. During the early stages, the hike will take the upland trails before entering the local ravines along Elk Lick Creek and Elk Lick Falls before arriving at the oldest documented tree in Fayette County, KY. Printing services are perfect for creating maps of the trails for such excursions to guide attendees and enhance their outdoor experience.

The Floracliff Naturalists will act as guides on the hike, and the journey will have a moderate to strenuous difficulty level due to steep terrain in certain sections. Attendees are encouraged to dress for the elements.

The hike is scheduled for Saturday, November 9th, and participants will meet at the Floracliff Nature Sanctuary at 10:00 AM. General admission tickets are available online at $15 per person.
