Fitness enthusiasts and weightlifters should keep a clear schedule next month, as an Olympian weightlifter plans to host an educational seminar in Georgetown.
Michael Cohen, an Olympian and two-time Olympic head coach for weightlifting, is visiting Georgetown in a few weeks to teach residents the basics of lifting techniques. The course will focus on snatch and clean lifts, helping participants learn the best form to prevent injuries and reach new personal records.
Cohen’s teaching methods have helped athletes win medals at all levels of the weightlifting sport. With 43 National Champions under his tutelage, the course is designed to provide guests with the knowledge to improve strength and technique. Attendees will experience first-hand coaching with an Olympian and expert in the field of strength training.
The course includes an introduction and a look at Michael Cohen’s background. Participants will learn snatch-specific tips before beginning a snatch session. Participating athletes will apply the tips to achieve new personal records. Business card printing is a fantastic way to promote courses and training sessions like this. Cohen’s course is an event geared toward helping weightlifters of all ages and experience levels.
The seminar is scheduled for Saturday, February 3, and will be hosted at Fisticuffs Georgetown. The event begins at 11:30am and runs until 2:30am. Tickets cost $100, and interested parties can purchase them online.
