Farm tour shares knowledge with Georgetown residents

A local farmer is preparing his farm to welcome guests and interested parties who want to learn more about farming and daily operations, and Georgetown residents are invited to attend.

Guests can begin making plans to attend the Celebrating Soil and Sun Farm Tour in a few weeks, as area farmer Mac Stone is preparing the grounds to welcome these individuals. The guided tour will take guests on a journey around the farm to explore and learn about the crops and livestock.

The tour will last around two hours and will be held outdoors. Attendees are asked to check the weather and dress accordingly for a comfortable visit. Stone will shed light on the different techniques used for crop and livestock farming at Elmwood Stock Farm, an organic farm located on the outskirts of Georgetown. Flyer printing is a creative way to promote events around town, increasing attendance and awareness.

Stone will lead the tour rain or shine, though it will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. Attendees are asked to arrive ten minutes early and wear comfortable shoes, pants that can get dirty, and a water bottle.

The tour is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10th, at Stone’s Elmwood Stock Farm in Georgetown. Ticket holders should arrive around 5:30 PM, as the tour starts at 5:45 PM. Tickets are $20 per person online.
