Quilters and other crafters in Georgetown will want to make a note in their diaries, as a quilting session for charity is planning an event in town.
The Quilts Across America Celebration, a gathering focused on making charity quilts to help those in need, will convene in Georgetown next month. The event will offer quilters and other individuals an opportunity to make a difference while honoring the hard work of the Scott County Library staff.
The celebration will include a blessing of the quilts, which will occur after all quilts from 2024 are completed and displayed. Upon completing the blessing process, each quilt will be prepared and sent to Sleep in Heavenly Peace for distribution to those in need. Printing services are a fantastic way to recognize the individuals who crafted each quilt and provide background information about them for such events and giveaways.
The group will also recap the 2024 year and set new goals for 2025 to bring more quilts to families for the holidays. Attendees will enjoy opportunities to sew together and forge new friendships. Free fabric will be provided to all guests who register for the quilting event.
The Scott County Library will host the quilting session on Sunday, December 15, starting at 1:30 PM and ending at 7:00 PM. Attendance is free and interested parties can RSVP online.
