A distance running event is bringing people from the Georgetown area together, with participants choosing from 5K and 10K winter runs.
The 2024 Frozen Rails 5K and 10K are preparing to welcome runners and area residents looking to spend quality time with family and friends in the outdoors. The goal is to help each participant make a healthy start to the new year by walking, jogging, or running in one of the two events. It will be the eighth year running for the event.
The course will take the 5K and 10K participants through the historic downtown district of town, with the race starting from and ending at Midway Baptist Church. Banner printing is a fantastic way to welcome participants to the finish line at the end of the course while also providing ample space for sponsor logos to build brand awareness.
The church will act as the race day headquarters, and runners will need to stop by to pick up their packets and register. Participants will receive a commemorative shirt, awards, and access to coffee and hot cocoa from Berserker Brew Coffee. Part of the proceeds will go to the Midway Ministerial Association.
The race is scheduled for Wednesday, January 1st, with a start time of 2:00 PM. It is an outdoor event, and participants should dress for the weather. Registration is open online for $30.
