Georgetown gears up for annual Festival of the Horse

Always a lively tradition, the Festival of the Horse is set to return to the streets of Downtown Georgetown for its 2023 edition.

Organized by the Georgetown/Scott County Tourism Office, this event is set to offer attendees three days packed with equestrian celebrations, horse parades, and numerous entertainment options.

Since the 1980s, the Festival of the Horse has been a cherished tradition, drawing local and visitor horse enthusiasts and curious onlookers to the heart of Horse Country. This event serves as a vibrant celebration, commemorating and honoring the historical significance of horses and fostering a sense of community. Organizers of events like this can employ poster printing to advertise the festival to residents and neighboring communities.

As the hooves echo through the streets, the festival will showcase numerous horses during the parades, accompanied by the melodies of live music. Beyond the horse displays, attendees can peruse a diverse selection of craft vendors, food, and refreshments.

Those seeking friendly competition can engage in a chili cook-off while others test their skills in the corn hole tournament. Thrill-seekers of all ages will find amusement rides designed to add an extra layer of excitement to the event.

The Festival of the Horse will take place from Friday, September 8 to Sunday, September 10. Opening hours are 4:00pm to 10:00pm on Friday, 11:00am to 10:00pm on Saturday, and 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday.
