This fall, many communities will be marking National Public Lands Day, and a Portage beach will benefit from the celebration.
A cleanup day has been scheduled for Indiana Dunes National Park’s West Beach, and Mermaid Straw is one of the local businesses that has signed on to support the activity. All assistance will be appreciated, and people of any age can get involved in this grassroots environmental stewardship project.
Those who register for the day are invited to stop by the Mermaid Straw tent, and here, they can pick up a bucket and fill their water bottle at the station provided. Free parking will be offered to each of the volunteers, and each person who fills their five-gallon bucket with trash they’ve picked up from the sand will receive a free Mermaid Straw they can take home with them.
Reusable pop up Banners can be prepare by a banner printing company to use during this type of function, and since they can be folded compactly, they can easily be stored between events.
This chance to be part of a spruce-up party planned for West Beach will be held on September 26th. The cleanup is scheduled to kick off at 9:00 am, and the cleaners will keep on working until 11:00 am. Anyone who has questions or needs additional misinformation has been asked to visit the activity’s online listing.
