Portage park to play host to Halloween hayrides

An event that has become part of a traditional Portage Halloween season will be returning for this fall, offering spooky rides through Woodland Park.

The Haunted Hayride, which is intended for those age three and up, will transport riders for a spine-tingling tour of the park. The organizers have put out a call to local community service groups that have been looking for a fundraising idea for the season, as it will provide a portion of the proceeds to any that would like to set up their own Halloween display at the park for the occasion.

The rides will take place on three different dates, and the cost per rider is $3. A concessions area will be set up for the enjoyment of the crowd. Attendees should note that only cash will be accepted. The function is a production of Indiana Dunes and the Portage Department of Parks and Recreation.

One of the tasks for the planners of a themed occasion like this might be ordering décor. A banner printing company will be able to help by supplying equipment and expertise to craft oversized items, and these can be prepared to its customers specifications.

The Haunted Hayride will be bringing some spooky fun to the community from October 21 to October 23. The rides will be given from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm.
