Starting in early June, a Portage pop-up market will offer a farmers’ market-style activity for those who would like to connect with local farmers, crafters, and makers.
The Market on the Square initiative, which runs from June to August, will see community markets held each week. They will begin in the afternoon and run into the evening hours, and the functions will be held at the Founders Square Amphitheater.
The public who attend the celebration will be able to buy fresh produce as well as crafts, meat and other items, and food trucks will be parked on site so they can enjoy a bite to eat.
Other vendors will also be setting up shop, and a line-up of performers has already been booked to supply the live entertainment. The initiative has been organized by Portage Parks and Recreation.
Many communities organize summer activities. Any printed materials needed to ensure they will be successful can be purchased from local Print shops, which will be able to offer everything from customized Forms to business card printing services.
The Market on the Square series of Friday night events will begin on June 3, and the final session is scheduled for August 19. More information, including a list of the bands and other entertainers, can be found by visiting the Portage Parks website.
