Sea glass can be used to create an assortment of jewellery, and the attendees at a Portage Mother's Day brunch will be creating an assortment of pieces they can treasure for years to come.
The staff at Treasures by the Tide and Dig the Dunes will be joining forces to host a special day for moms, and it will include both light brunch fare and some crafting. Bottomless mimosas will be served along with a cheese plate and baked goods, and the assembled group will be making an earring and necklace set.
The participants will use sea glass and other materials to make their own jewellery, and the attendees will learn some of the basic techniques used for wire wrapping. A variety of items will be on offer for the participants to use, and if they have any special beach treasures at home they would like to use, they will be welcome to do so. The ticket price covers the cost of the materials as well as the brunch, and additional food and beverages will be available for anyone who would like to purchase more.
This all-ages activity is now accepting registrations, and the ticket price is $55 each. Stationery printers will be able to provide printed instruction sheets for each attendees in an event like this to take home with them.
This celebration of Portage’s moms will kick off at 12:00 pm on May 8. It will welcome ticket holders at Dig the Dunes Trail Stop.
