Summer fun is coming fast, and Portage will be joining communities large and small all across in the country in wishing the nation a happy birthday.
The planners of a local Independence Day Weekend, which will be hosted at Lakeshore Camp Resort, have built an agenda that will be filled with fun. It will run for three days.
On Thursday night, the site will be converted into a giant “drive-in” style outdoor movie theater, while on the Friday, the entertainment will be provided by Elvis tribute artist Dave Elvis Thomas. This will be capped off by a fireworks display courtesy of ‘Mad Bomber’. Sheryl Youngblood and the ‘Say Yes Band” will keep everyone on their feet on the Saturday evening, and on Sunday, there will be breakfast and another movie. This will all be accompanied by wagon rides, crafts, and other fun, and it will all be family friendly.
