Portage families invited to enjoy local weekend away

While Covid may have put a crimp in many Portage families' holiday travel plans, there is still an option on offer to them right in their home area.

Spring House Inn is organizing a "staycation" to help kick off the holiday season, and the theme for the day will be “Christmas in Oz”. The management at the property have put together a weekend of family-friendly activities, and there will be offerings for all ages.

Package tickets for the weekend are $299.00 each, and this is all-inclusive for two adults and up to three children. It includes two nights’ accommodation as well as a selection of activities, which range from meeting costumed characters from the Oz Books and movie to story times, crafting, and an afterhours party for the parents and guardians. Everyone will have an opportunity to do some shopping at the Chesterton Hometown Christmas festival, and the hotel boasts a heated pool.

Hotels and other venues that organize themed events like this often choose to have special decor prepared for the festivities by a banner printing company. These can produce a wide selection of items, including oversized ones such as photo booth backdrops and character standees.

This chance for Portage families to visit Oz without having to leave their home area will be offered starting on November 26. Tickets for the weekend may be reserved now.
