Portage event to have area families jumping

Many children, and also adults, are fascinated by frogs. Portage families who would like to have some fun learning about these amphibians may want to save the date for an event that will be held locally this April.

Indiana Dunes National Park’s Chelberg Farm offers a variety of programs, and one that is highly anticipated by its staff, volunteers and members of the public is its Field Station Frog Find. The participants will be invited to search for hidden ceramic frogs that will be hidden along the trails in the Little Calumet section of the property, and those who find one will be able to collect a cash prize.

Each of the guests will be eligible to win one prize, and once they have completed their search, they will be welcome to stay and mingle with the other guests over a drink and a bite to eat. There will be special activities just for the kids, and the ticket price for all of this is only $10 each.

While everyone is welcome to be a part of this occasion, the organizers have asked that everyone register ahead of time. When they do, they will be welcome to purchase a special Frog Find T-shirt printed with a unique graphic design prepared just for the occasion.

This event will be held on April 13, and it will be taking place at 709-747 North Mineral Springs Road in Portage. Check-in for the function will open at 3:30 pm.
