Indiana has a strong agricultural tradition, and one of its well-known crops will be the theme for one of the community's fall festivals.
Corn is one of the major food crops grown in the state, and the Portage area Popcorn Festival will put one of the state's crops front and center. This year will mark its 43rd anniversary, and it will be on offer for one day only.
The plans for the day include at least 250 different booths set up by area arts and crafts vendors, where many of these makers will be on site to discuss their works and explain their inspiration. The foodies in the crowd will find lots to whet their appetite at the concession area, and kids games will be on the agenda as well. The Popcorn Panic race will be back, as will the Popcorn Parade, and there will be two main stages for live entertainment.
