The holidays can be a happy time of year for many, and thanks to the support of individuals and businesses from all around the Portage area, 500 local families will have a big reason to smile.
Merry Meals is an initiative that will provide uncooked meals to area families experiencing financial hardship. The organizers are accepting registration from those who would like to accept this offer, and they will then be able to pick up their package of ingredients and enjoy the dishes at home.
Each of the holiday hampers that will be distributed will include potatoes, ham, vegetables, a bag of apples, and dessert. There will be enough food to feed a whole family, and none of the people who pick up one of the packages will be asked to pay.
Those who have registered to receive one of the hampers have been asked to arrive at the Chesterton Moose Lodge between 12:00 noon and 4:00 pm to pick up their food. A printer can use graphic design to craft poster, leaflets, and other Promotional Products that can help an event like this feed as many families as possible.
Distribution Day for the Merry Meals program will be Saturday, December 22. The planners of this event noted that they wished to thank the community for its support.
