The Portage area is about to get a good spring clean thanks to a community project planned for this April.
Five different locations in Portage Township will be getting some care, and the organizers are hoping there will be plenty of willing hands ready to help. There are lots of maintenance jobs that need to be done, and those who are interested can sign up to work at McCool Road, Haven Hollow, South Haven Fire Department, Jim Lynch Park, and Field of Dreams.
The volunteers will be asked to perform tasks ranging from litter pickup and disposal to painting, installing plants, cleaning, and ensuring equipment is in good repair. To thank the helpers for their efforts, a complimentary lunch will be served at noon, and everyone can sit back, relax and enjoy one another’s company. It is free to participate, and those who are interested can attend on their own, as a family, or as part of a group.
Posters often prove to be highly effective marketing tools for community gatherings and other events. A poster printing company’s graphic design team will be happy to create marketing materials to assist.
The Team Up 2 Clean Up service project will be undertaken on April 23. Everyone is asked to register in advance and be on site at the location they have selection by no later than 8:30 am.
