Plans are underway for a Portage event that will bring the community together for an evening of celebration.
The city has scheduled its Mistletoe on Main Street activity, and the Portage Kiwanis Club sponsoring the festivities along with Portage Event Partnership. The fun will begin when the parade starts at Willowcreek Middle School, and it will wrap up with a seasonal soiree at City Plaza.
The Parade of Toys will include marchers, floats, decorated vehicles, and other entries, and many of these will be lit up. At the Plaza, there will be entertainment courtesy of the Portage High School Choraliers. Food, including the piping hot chili being served up in the Kiwanis Chili Supper, will be available for purchase. Santa and the city’s mayor will throw the switch on the venue’s holiday tree, and after this, families can visit and pose for photos with Santa before he makes his way back to the North Pole.
When preparing for a holiday event, custom printed materials are likely to be on the shopping list. A banner printing company will be happy to lend a hand, and can prepare both single-use and reusable decor.
Mistletoe on Main Street will be welcoming Portage families on Saturday, December 7. A collection of toys will take place for the Toys for Tots program during the parade.
