This fall, the hunt will be on for Portage’s top taco. These will be accompanied by a variety of locally produced craft beers, and tickets are now available to be a part this year’s Portage BrewFest and Taco Test.
The event, which will show case the area’s rapidly expanding craft brewing industry, will include at least 65 beers, ciders and wines produced in the state and across the country. While they enjoy sampling the beverages, the guests can mingle, and this is just the beginning of the fun that’s on the menu for the occasion.
Area chefs will be serving up their own take on the traditional taco recipe, and the event goers will be invited to sample them all and then vote for their top choice. The winner of the competition will be crowned Top Taco and receive bragging rights. There will also be live entertainment, and the celebration will be held rain, shine or even snow.
The proceeds of the occasion will benefit two not for profits that serve the local community. Tees and other items that feature the event’s Logo Design are available for purchase by those who attend the celebration.
This year’s Portage BrewFest and Taco Test will be bringing some extra heat to the city on September 21st. It will be held in Founders Square Park.
