Community CPR class helps Elk Grove Village

The local fire department is in the final stages of scheduling a community cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) class, and area residents are invited to attend to learn life-saving tips and techniques.

The Friends and Family CPR Class, organized by the Elk Grove Village Fire Department, is preparing to open its doors to area residents and visitors who want to learn the most effective techniques and tips to save a life in an emergency. The course, while educating enrollees, will not result in a CPR certification.

Students will learn the best way to use CPR to aid an adult, while also learning child CPR with accompanying breathing techniques. Instructors will go on to provide demonstrations on the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for both adults and children. Brochure printing can help instructors and organizers retain more information and continue studying at home after attending such learning events.

The skills will be taught in a safe and inclusive environment using the American Heart Association’s (AHA) approved and research-proven methods for the best results. The learning opportunity is ideal for schools and students, and parents and other caregivers are also encouraged to learn the skills.

The Elk Grove Village Fire Department will host the learning workshop on Wednesday, July 9. The session will run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Enrollment is open online for $28.52 per person.
