A cultural festival is being planned in Elk Grove Village for this summer, pitting boat crews against one another to determine who wins the race.
The 13th Annual Chicago International Dragon Boat Festival will welcome attendees and participants later this summer while celebrating ancient Chinese culture. Organizers have ensured a day that is filled with racing, culture, and bringing members of the community together. The boats, which come from ancient Chinese designs, will be powered by 20 rowers who will row in unison and work their way toward the finish line.
Local social groups and businesses are expected to support the event to add to the Elk Grove Village community. Banner printing can provide sponsorship materials that organizers can place along the racing route to generate impressions and build goodwill with spectators at races like this.
New teams and individuals are welcome to sign up to participate in the race. Crews can range in size from 16 to 25, and interested individuals are encouraged to recruit family members and friends to participate. The festival grounds will also offer many activities for the entire family, along with food trucks and a marketplace.
The Ned Brown Preserve in Elk Grove Village will be the host site for the festival. The gates open at 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 25th. Tickets can be reserved for free online.
