Summer camp provides learning opportunity near Elk Grove Village

Parents in Elk Grove Village who are looking for educational summer camp options near town will want to make a note of a nearby history camp.

The History Camp 2026 June session, which is being put on by the Mount Prospect Historical Society, has announced the official dates for the first session, allowing parents in nearby Elk Grove Village to make plans to enroll their children. Enrollees will get to explore local history through crafts and activities led by educators and historians-in-training.

The camp is open to children between six and 11 years old. Organizers can promote camps like this to parents of potential attendees with brochure printing, providing all the information for parents to make informed decisions and learn about the camp's benefits for their children.

Sessions will use the most popular learning activities from previous sessions to provide a memorable summer camp experience that helps children discover a passion for learning and history. Campers will learn more about notable residents, including firefighter Edwin Haberkamp and long-time resident Bessie Friedrichs. They will also discover what life was like for children in the 1910s in Mount Prospect.

The camp will be held at the Mount Prospect Historical Society campus near Elk Grove Village. Session 1 runs from Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, from 9:00 AM to noon. Registration is open online for $150 per camper.
