A community bike ride is in the works in Elk Grove Village for next month, providing a memorable and adventurous way to experience the local forest preserves.
The 2025 Busse Woods Night Ride, organized by the Friends of Cycling in Elk Grove Village, will begin meeting soon to ride the local trails and experience nature during nighttime. It will be the 10th iteration of the event, which has become a staple for the Elk Grove Village community.
Riders will get to explore the Cook County Forest Preserves on the one night of the year in which the gates are open after dark. Riders will hit the trails at sunset and have the opportunity to continue pedaling until nearly midnight. A party with other participants will also be part of the event. Guests will enjoy access to music, firepits, snacks, and other food for purchase. Participants aged 21 and over will receive two complimentary drink tickets that can be redeemed for beer from Pollyanna Brewing or wine from Wine With Me. Coffee will also be available from Maple Leaf Coffee Roasters.
The ride will be held on Saturday, August 23 starting at 6:30 PM. Guests will meet at the Busse Woods Boating Center in Elk Grove Village. Tickets are $45 per cyclist.
