Worldwide art coming to Barrington

Amdur Productions and the Village of Barrington will host the annual Barrington Art Festival on a new date.

The event has been taking place for over a decade, and has now been rescheduled from its original May date. Attendees will peruse artwork from international artists on Cook Street and Station Street while listening to live music. There will also be children's activities and food available to make the festival a family friendly event. Children can participate in creating a wall of graffiti.

Amdur Productions president Amy Amdur said that the festival is one of many celebrations commemorating the birthday of Barrington itself, enhancing the artistic qualities of the area in a family-friendly way.

The festival features art from over 130 artists using diverse media. Artworks include fabrics, glass, ceramics, paint, and sculpture. Guests will have a chance to buy artwork they enjoy and socialize with their artists, who are likely to have Business Cards at their booths.

Artists can still apply to display their art at the festival. This is to cater to artists with available time, but applications will be limited. Interested artists can register on Zapplication or Juried Art Services.

There is no charge to attend and many free parking areas nearby. Anyone with requests and questions can email or call Amdur Productions for more information.

The art festival will take place September 12-13. Admission on both days will be from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
