A lunch and farming course will visit Barrington next month, offering a lasting learning event for area residents.
The event will focus on teaching attendees tips for growing a culinary and medicinal herb garden at home.
Instructors from the Advocate Good Shepherd Smart Farm will take guests through the steps of creating an herb garden. The instructors will focus on both indoor and outdoor herb gardens and the effective tips for growing herbs in those settings.
Guests will learn about the best climates and soil types for specific herbs. Knowledge will also be shared about the ideal uses for each herb for culinary and medicinal purposes.
Attendees can use that knowledge to prepare meals with new flavors and health benefits. Brochure printing is a great way to provide information about each herb and its benefits at workshops such as this.
The course is catered to gardeners of all experience and skill levels. The instructors will share tips for sustainable gardening and the best practices to help all attendees get the most from their gardens. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch and water to remain hydrated and fresh for the event’s duration.
Barrington’s White House will host the gardening course on Thursday, May 2, beginning at 11:30 AM and ending at 1:00 PM. Tickets are available online and start at $15 per guest for general admission.
