Equine films to show in Barrington

The EQUUS Film Fest will be coming to Barrington in late April.

The festival visits international locations during the year and features two hours of short films on horses and their interaction with humans. The compilation of films is called Winnie Fest.

The Catlow will host the film. Therapy animals from SOUL Harbour Ranch will be there 30 minutes before the film starts.

One movie, created by World Touch Productions' Wade and Thomas Balsamo, is titled The Human-Animal Collection and is from the Ranch itslef. It won a Winnie Award when the Equus Film Festival came to the Kentucky Horse Park. Mystery and Unique, mini horses that are therapy animals, were present at the film and art festival.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $10 for kids under 11 years old. Proceeds, including sponsorship levels, will benefit the therapy program at SOUL Harbour Ranch. It is the leading therapy program in Barrington and includes donkeys, miniature horses, and dogs.

Various sponsorships are also available and range from $25 to $2,500. Benefits to sponsoring includes social media advertisements, a sign at the event with the sponsoring business' Logo Design, and training sessions at the ranch.
