Basic life support courses come to Barrington

Residents of Barrington should create space in their schedules as the Barrington Fire Department hosts basic life support courses for area residents in the new year.

The Village of Barrington Fire Department offers in-person courses for medical professionals and interested parties to learn basic life support techniques. The hands-on course is an excellent opportunity to learn the essential skills needed to confidently respond in an emergency.

Attendees will learn how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), assist choking individuals, and use automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to help their fellow citizens. The instructors have years of experience providing interactive demonstrations and walking guests through emergency scenarios. The course also includes real-life case studies to prepare students for emergencies.

Each registered guest will learn to assess and prioritize patients to determine the best course of action for their health. The course also teaches effective breathing and chest compression techniques to help save lives. It is an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals and citizens interested in learning life-saving techniques. Flyer printing is an effective way to raise awareness of events like this.

The basic life support courses are scheduled for Thursday, January 18, beginning at 8:00 AM at the Barrington Fire Department. Admission costs $50, and tickets are available to interested parties online through the Eventbrite page.
