The arrival of autumn means that many Barrington households will be taking care of their fall yard work chores, and the Cuba Township Road District announced that it has scheduled a series of pickups for the inevitable debris.
The Township will be picking up branches, twigs and leaf litter that has blown down in storms or otherwise needs to be disposed of. Several dates have also been scheduled for firewood pickup, but these may be cancelled if the weather is not favorable.
Local households are asked to make sure the pile of material they leave for collection is no larger than ten feet wide by four feet high, and ten minutes will be allocated for each pick-up stop. A request has also been made that they all face the same direction. Tree stumps, roots, and other items larger than eight inches in diameter will not be accepted, and the service is not intended for those who want to dispose of an entire tree or clear a lot.
Many townships and communities offer fall leaf and yard waste pick up days. A flyer printing company will be able to make sure everyone knows when and where they will take place.
The start date for fall brush collection will be October 24 at 7:00 am. Firewood distribution dates have also been scheduled , and more information about this can be found on the Cuba Township Road District website.
