Barrington kids to benefit from donation drive

Thanks to the generous spirit of their neighbors, the holiday season is about to get a lot brighter for Barrington kids.

Let It Be Us has put out a call to the public, asking them to consider including an item for a child in need on their gift buying list. These will be distributed throughout the area by CASA of Lake County, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and also several local group homes, and all help will be appreciated.

Those who would like to lend a hand have been asked to donate a new, unwrapped toy or other item from the list prepared. People who receive them will range in age from babies to teens, and contributions of wrapping paper, gift Bags, Boxes, and ribbon will all be welcome. A collection station will be set up at Barringtons White House.

The holiday season is often seen as a time for giving, and toy drives and other organized events are always scheduled during the season. A poster printing company will have an assortment of cost-effective ways of letting the community know when and where a celebration will be taking place.

The Let It Be Us Toy Drive will be held on December 16 and 17, which will allow the volunteers to wrap and distribute the gifts in time for the holidays. Donations may be dropped off on both days from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
