Nampa to host August fundraiser
Two professional real estate organizations are getting together to hold a fundraiser in Nampa.
Homes of Idaho, a full-service real estate brokerage company, and Value Home of Idaho, a builder, are teaming up to sponsor an event, Bowl to Build, to benefit Habitat for Humanity. The fun outing is scheduled for the Nampa Bowl where participants will enjoy bowling along with a photo booth, a silent auction, and food trucks. A weekend getaway is the prize in a balloon raffle.
All proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity, which is a non-profit, global organization working to provide housing for people in all 50 US states and in about 70 countries. Habitat’s dream is for everyone in the world to have decent housing. It works toward making the dream come true by helping families find their self-reliance and strength as they work alongside Habitat volunteers to build their own homes. Doing the work themselves allows the new homeowners to obtain an affordable mortgage.
The idea for Habitat came from Millard and Linda Fuller, who developed the idea of “partnership housing,” and who kicked off Habitat for Humanity International in 1976. Organizers of events like this could use brochure printing to develop pamphlets explaining the work of the charity being supported.
Bowl to Build is scheduled for August 12, from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm, at the Nampa Bowl on Caldwell Boulevard. Tickets are $25 each.
