Nampa to give healthy cooking lesson to children
A local blogger and food author will offer kids a cooking class in October at the Nampa Public Library.
Crazy Good Vegetables for Kids is a program where children can learn how to cook healthier snacks. The course will include recipes for chocolate peanut butter smoothies, kale chips, and ranch dip. All children who attend the course must be accompanied by a caregiver.
The presenter for the cooking class is Faith Ralphs, a published food author who promotes healthy living through eating plant-based foods. The lesson is intended for children between the ages of 8 and 12. Libraries that offer hands-on experiences similar to this may use poster printing to advertise their programs.
Faith Ralphs is a health coach, blogger, and author whose mission is to create delicious and nutritious recipes. She was concerned with the health problems associated with traditional American diets and transitioned to a whole-food plant-based lifestyle with help from her recipes. People can learn to create many dishes from her blog, including sweet potato black bean bowls, plant-based parmesan pasta, and buffalo chickpea salad wraps.
The children’s cooking lesson will be on Thursday, October 10th from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Families interested in the event must register in advance. Children attending the class will have a chance to win Plant-Based Cooking for Kids, a book written by Ralphs with 70 recipes.
