Institute to give physical therapy course in Nampa
The Institute of Clinical Excellence will be organizing a course in March at Altitude Physical Therapy in Nampa.
Cervical Spine: Manual Therapy Management is a lesson for physical therapists and doctors of medicine and osteopathy that discusses the best evidence in managing neck pain. The course will go over the safety concerns behind evidence-based treatments. There will even be a laboratory component to the class focusing on how to effectively manipulate the cervicothoracic spine. Students also can learn about motor control exercises during the lesson.
The teachers for the course include Jeff Moore, Jessica Davis, Jordan Berry, and Zac Morgan. During the first day of class, attendees will participate in a cervical mobilization lab and cervical thrust lab. The second day will cover subjects such as patient expectations, legislative updates, and instability testing. Both dates of the course will give students an hour break to have lunch. Organizers of lessons similar to these can use brochure printing to design handouts that can be brought home.
The neck pain course will take place on Saturday, March 12 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday, March 13 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Students must pay $595 to participate in the lesson. The same class will also be available on August 13. All attendees will receive 16 continuing education units for completing the course.
