Suwanee race and food festival to support local organization

Suwanee will be organizing a 5K and food festival in May to raise funds for the Lawrenceville Co-Op.

The Tacos & Tequila 5K is a community event where people can have fun at a fiesta while helping those in need. The race held at the fundraiser will give awards to the top finishers in each age group. People may also earn awards for Best Costume and Best Doggie Costume. A special surprise awaits those who cross the finish line. The food for the event will be provided by Beto's Tacos of Suwanee.

The Lawrenceville Co-Op is an organization that helps provide food to those in need who live in Lawrenceville and Dacula. The emergency food bank also gives away personal care items. People can help the group by volunteering to assist with computer work, pantry distribution, and maintaining the venue's grounds. Volunteers may also assist the organization with calling clients to determine their needs and picking up donated food from local contributors.

The 5K will be on Saturday, May 6 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The price to register for the event is $50, though the cost will increase after April 30. Packets for the race may be picked up early at Big Peach Running on Thursday, May 4. Charities that hold fundraisers such as this can increase interest in their events by using banner printing services.
