The non-profit Happyfeat will organize a holiday-themed race in December at the Suwanee Town Center.
Happyfeat's Run Run Rudolph 5K is a festive activity where people can show their support for the special needs community. Those participating in the seasonal race are encouraged to wear costumes such as Christmas pajamas or reindeer outfits. Awards will be given to the athletes with the best times in their age group. The 5K has been certified by the United States Track & Field organization and is timed by electronic chips. Strollers and dogs are allowed at the race.
Happyfeat is a non-profit group that improves the lives of those with special needs by providing them with inclusive programs. Lucy Evans is the organization's founder, and Nicole Short is the co-director. The non-profit created the Day Program to help special needs individuals who have aged out of the local school system. Some activities offered in the Day Program include cooking lessons and field trips. The organization accepts donations through PayPal.
The holiday 5K will be held on December 3 and will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The event costs $35 per person, though runners can receive discounted rates by registering early. Packet pick-up for the 5K will take place at Suwanee City Hall. Non-profits that host races similar to this may use flyer printing to advertise their competitions.
