The group Jazz Matters will co-host a community festival with the City of Suwanee in June at Town Center Park.
Jazz, Blues & Barbeque is a one-day concert event where people can listen to talented jazz and blues performers while enjoying food from local vendors. This year’s concert will feature several artists, such as The Bill Hart Band, L’Tanya “Sugar Lips” Shields-Turne, and Terry Dukes. Those at the event can purchase food from food trucks and browse artisan vendors. The founder of Jazz Matters, Edwin Williams, will also perform in the music festival.
Jazz Matters is a nonprofit organization that aims to help people learn about the cultural significance of jazz music. The group helps honor the legacy of the jazz genre and promotes it to a broader audience. Jazz Matters uses educational workshops, live performances at community events, and outreach programs to expose more people to jazz. The group hosts the Jazz Matters podcast, which is co-hosted by Von Coulter and Edwin Williams.
The BBQ, jazz, and blues fest will be held on Saturday, June 1st and will begin at 5:00 pm. The live performances will start at 7:00 pm. There is no cost for people to enjoy the concerts or access the festival area. Local organizations that hold similar community events to this may use banner printing to promote their shows to more consumers.
