Wine connoisseurs have a treat coming, as a wine tasting is planned for Roswell.

Wines inspired by the vintages of the Rhone and Bordeaux areas are being made at Halter Ranch in Paso Robles, California, and some of those wines will be available for a tasting in Roswell. The Monterey Wine Competition awarded Halter Ranch the Winery of the Year 2019, as did the Central Coast Wine Competition. Halter Ranch also won the Paso Robles Wine Country 2019 Environmental Award.

The Halter Ranch winery goes back to the 1880s. It lies on the central California coast, and comprises more than 2,000 acres, including 10 acres devoted to olives, 15 to walnuts, and 281 acres where wine grapes are grown using Sustainability in Practice (SIP) principles. Using only part of the property to grow grapes and leaving the rest natural helps maintain a diverse environment.

The vineyard's wines have won an SIP certification, which indicates the organization is protecting and preserving the environment, using proven business practices that will enhance the vineyard's operations in the long term, and treating both the community and the vineyard's employees with care.

The wine tasting will take place at Deep Roots Wine Market & Tasting Room on Canton Street in Roswell's Plum Tree Village. The event is set for January 9, from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Flyer printing can be used to create informative handouts for attendees of events like this.
