Kokedama is a method for growing plants that originated in Japan, and a Roswell workshop will introduce this practice to a new crop of indoor gardeners.
The East Roswell Library will be welcoming adults for an activity that will supply a hands-on introduction to the art and science of creating a kokedama. The materials needed for the project will be provided, and support for the workshop has been provided by Friends of East Roswell Library, Inc.
The session will see the attendees work with the moss, twine, plant and other materials, and full instruction will be included as well. The practice can be relaxing and meditative, and after the class has drawn to a close, the attendees can take their kokedama home with them. Everyone will learn how to keep their living sculpture healthy and happy, and they can ask any questions they have.
Houseplants can add a touch of life to a room, and many find working with them to be very rewarding. A horticulturally focused class often includes distributing sheets of care tips, and these can be prepared by area Stationery printers.
March 5th will see the attendees in this class craft their first kokedama, and they can then use the skills they have learned to prepare more at home. Everyone interested is asked to arrive at the Library by no later than 1:00 pm.
