An arts festival celebrating the contributions of African-Americans to art will be held in Roswell soon.
The 4th Annual Roswell Roots Arts Festival will be hosted by the Ann Jackson Gallery in Roswell. The event celebrates the creativity of black artists such as visual artists Sharon Crumley, Daniel Hodges, and Sherri Richards; jewelry makers; artists working in mixed media; maker Dr. Regina Speights; and more.
The Roswell Roots Arts Festival works in tandem with the Roswell Roots Festival, which was founded 18 years ago to acknowledge and present the contributions black residents have made to the Roswell community. Roswell sponsors the Roots Festival, which is one of the largest celebrations of black accomplishments in the nation. The newer festival seeks to introduce the work of black artists to a larger group of collectors, and to celebrate black creativity, as well as allowing artists to use their own lens to tell their stories. The artists come from metropolitan Atlanta, as well as Roswell itself.
The festival is set for February 8, from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm, at the gallery on Alpharetta Street. Ann Jackson Gallery has been presenting outstanding art for 50 years, earning a national and international reputation. Admission is free, and so is parking, and ticket are not required. Flyer printing can be used to create informative handouts for people attending this type of event.
