Knitting is an activity that creates useful works of art while keeping one’s hands busy, and a Roswell workshop series will teach the fundamentals.
Instructor Sara Sunderland will be sharing her skills with the attendees in the Knitting for Beginners workshop that will be offered starting in late August. The Roswell Visual Arts Center has provided space for the activity, and the registration fee for the course states at $128.00.
During each class, Sara will introduce new techniques and work on the ones taught in the previous workshop. Everyone will learn about the tools and materials used for knitting and how to choose the right one for a particular project, and the series is for those age 17 and up. The learners will be taught everything from how to read a pattern to planning a project, and everyone will receive some yarn and needles so they can hit the ground running.
A leisure focused learning activity offers a chance to learn a new hobby along with a group of others who are also interested. Materials lists, instruction and tip sheets and other custom items for a class can be prepared by Print shops.
This introduction to the satisfaction of crafting one's own items from scratch is scheduled to begin on August 27th at 10495 Woodstock Road. It will wrap up on October 1st.
