Roswell senior expo a success

On March 29, Roswell held a wellness expo for seniors. This annual event is a project of the Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department, and is designed as a one-stop shop where people can gather information about many different aspects of healthcare. Everyone is welcome, though the fair focuses on people over 50.

Kiran Fatania, who is Roswell's health and wellness coordinator, said people of all ages would find the information valuable. Fatania is with the Health and Wellness Division, a specialized department that is now two years old. It was created to help support Roswell with activities and programs held year-round, and the health expo is one of the biggest events the division does.

Fatania said that people come to center constantly, asking questions such as where they can find a good chiropractor, or how they can assist their parents. At the expo, residents can find all such information for themselves, in one spot and in one day, with printed informative literature like Flyers and Brochures available to take home.

Fatania has organized the event for 15 years, and says it has become bigger each year. There are over twice as many vendors now as there were in the beginning; in fact, there was so much interest that Fatania had to create a wait list for vendors who were interested in participating.
