Tennis and golf tournaments are coming to Roswell for a good cause.

The Roswell Rotary Club is getting ready for its yearly tennis and golf tournaments, which will be held shortly at the Country Club of Roswell. The two contests are the 7th Annual Hagan Cup Classic Tennis Tournament, and the 41st Annual Aubrey Greenway Golf Tournament. The two are the main fundraiser for Roswell Rotary, and nearly 500 volunteers and players take part.

The event takes place in one day, and includes sessions of tennis and golf in the morning and again in the afternoon, with a break for lunch. There is also a ball drop contest, where numbered balls are dropped into a designated area. Those that go into a target hole, or wind up close to it, win $1,000. Should two or more balls land on the same target, the prize will be split. In many cases, drones or helicopters are used for these events, but in this case, the event will be courtesy of the Roswell Fire Department, which will use a hook-and-ladder truck to drop about 750 golf balls. The balls are $20 each.

The chairperson for the tournament, Adele Hamilton, said over $175,000 is raised during the event. The funds are split among over thirty charities over the course of a year.

The tournaments are scheduled for next Monday, September 9. Banner printing is often used to create decorations for events like this.
