What's Happening in Roswell, GA…

Roswell made its 2015 report on water quality public at the start of this month.

Roswell's Water Utility Division, working with the state's Environmental Protection Division, held laboratory tests of drinking water standards in 2015. There were no violations reported, and all parameters were well within allowable limits.

The city's residents get their water from the Water Utility Division, which serves approximately 5,600 people. The remaining residents get it from the Water Services Division of Public Works of Fulton County. The county agency performs a number of functions, including stormwater management, wastewater collection, water supply, water distribution, water reclamation, and public education.

The report gives residents information about the city's drinking water, such as where it comes from, what's in it, and whether or not it meets the standards for drinking water set by various regulatory agencies.

Roswell gets its water from two sources, the main one of which is the Roswell Water Treatment Plant, located in the city. The plant gets its water from the Big Creek Watershed. The second source is water Roswell buys from a treatment plant located in Alpharetta. This plant gets its water from the Chattahoochee River. Since Roswell's water comes from two sources, the city's system is known as a “blended water source.”

Roswell officials might work with a postcard printing company to create cards for residents that inform them of the positive results of the latest tests.
