The City of Roswell, in conjunction with Tunnell-Spangler & Associates, Inc., its consultant, has scheduled a charette to discuss the master plan for its Historic District.
A charette is a meeting of community members where designers, stakeholders, property owners, citizens, and others who have an interest in the community meet to exchange ideas in order to form a cohesive vision for an area. Bringing people together allows everyone to have input into the plan.
The charette will be two days long, and will be done on a walk-in basis. It will include input activities, a public meeting to kick off the event, and interactive activities. The charette is specifically focused on the Historic District Master Plan, and aims to bring everyone interested in preserving the district together.
A tentative schedule for the charette is as follows: on the first day, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, the first interactive session takes place; from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm, the second interactive session is planned. At 7:00 pm, a public meeting to kick-off the event will take place. The two-hour event includes a Visual Preference Survey and an analysis of the findings, along with a presentation and other input activities.
The second day will include one interactive session, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, and then a public presentation at 7 pm, with more ideas discussed. Organizers of events like this can use poster printing to help direct people to specific areas.
The charette is set for the Roswell City Hall on November 27 and 28.
