Roswell Aquatics Center expands services

The Adult Aquatics Center in Roswell has recently expanded the services it offers. Previous to August 1, 2017, the center was reserved for those age 50 and older, but on that date, it began admitting everyone over the age of 25. It also began offering fitness classes in the evening, and extending hours on certain days.

The center will now be open until 8.30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and until 6 pm on Saturdays, though the Saturday hours are to be used only for swimming laps. The decision to extend the hours on these days was due to the fact that few residents over 50 were making use of the facility at those times. On the other hand, these were precisely the hours that appealed to people who wanted to come to the center after work.

In addition, the center is offering new fitness classes in the evenings, including Hydro Mix and Aqua Aerobics.

Jeff Pruitt, who is the interim director of the city's recreation department, said that despite the changes, the city remains committed to making dedicated services available to residents who are over the age of 50.

To keep all the center's users informed of the changes, managers could work with a newsletter printing company to create a newsletter that lists the new hours, the various age limits accepted, and the new and regular classes.
