Music series continues with folk four-piece

The next performers in the Riverside Sounds series will be the River Whyless group, a folk-rock band who play experimental music.

Each year, Roswell residents can enjoy a series of free outdoor concerts. The series runs from May through October in Riverside Park.

The four-piece River Whyless comes from Asheville, North Carolina, and uses violin, bass, guitar, banjo, and cello to enhance their vocal works. The band's obvious influences are English traditional folksongs, which has led to critics comparing them to groups like Stornoway and Fleet Foxes. Paste Magazine says the band is capable of moving from soft ballads to hard rock anthems quickly and seamlessly.

River Whyless released a self-titled record this year, and their debut album ‘A Stone, a Leaf, an Unfound Door’ appeared in 2012.

River Whyless appears tomorrow, July 11, from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the park. Concert-goers who are hungry will have their choice of food trucks to satisfy their appetites. A snow cone vendor will be present, as will WheelyGrilly and Meatballerz. Food will be available beginning at 6:00 pm.

There are three more concerts in this year's series. Adron appears August 1, Monty Montgomery is up September 5, and the Get Right Band is slated to perform October 3.

Event planners might work with a banner printing company to create colorful streamers to hang above the stage for the occasion.
