Lynyrd Skynyrd band coming to Roswell

Tribute bands have become very popular, and often win new fans for themselves and for the groups they represent. Now one is coming to Roswell.

The Curtis Loew Project pays tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd, a rock band that first got together in 1964 in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1973, they released “Lynyrd Skynyrd,” their debut album, which sold more than one million Copies, and was certified gold by the RIAA. The hit “Free Bird” was from this album, and went to No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The band's biggest successes were in the 1970s, when they released songs like “Sweet Home Alabama,” and became known for their Southern rock sound.

The Curtis Loew Project takes its name from one of the original band's songs. The tribute outfit first got together in 2013 to celebrate their love of the original group. In order to distinguish themselves from other tribute bands the Curtis Loew Project, set up the stage and band to emulate the original exactly. They recreate classic songs from the 1973-1977 years, when Lynyrd Skynyrd released their studio albums, and produced a live album, “One More From the Road.”
When tribute bands visit an area, flyer printing is a popular option to advertise such events.

The Curtis Loew Project will be at Gypsy Rose on July 17, from 8pm to 11pm. There will also be acoustic music on the patio beginning at 5pm.
