What's Happening in Roswell, GA…

Life-saving classes will be held in the Roswell area soon, according to an article in the North Fulton Neighbor.

The cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes are free of charge for community members, and will be held at Fire Station 7, which is at 8025 Holcomb Bridge Road in Alpharetta, a short distance from Roswell. Brochure printing can be used to create materials for events like this.

Members of the Roswell Fire Department will be using the American Heart Association's Family & Friends CPR Course, which is designed for those who would like to learn CPR even though a certification is not a requirement of their jobs. The course is good for babysitters, grandparents, new parents, students, teachers, and anyone who wants to know how to save someone's life.

The course will present a number of skills, including relieving choking in infants, children, and adults; how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) on both adults and children; using CPR on a child, with breaths; and Hands-Only™ CPR, which is used on adults. The classes will be taught in groups using the “practice-while-watching” technique approved by the American Heart Association, with will give students the most practice hands-on time possible.

The CPR classes are set for November 7, one at 9:00 am and the second at 10:30 am. Each should last from 90 minutes to two hours, and there are only 20 spaces available in each class.
